Rob and Rebecca’s engagement was nothing short of magical. Set against the serene backdrop of Rebecca’s childhood home, a charming lake house in Connecticut, the proposal was a heartfelt surprise that combined natural beauty with personal history.

The Perfect Setting

On a stunning summer day, with cool breezes in the morning and warm, sunny weather later on, the lake house provided an idyllic setting. The dock, a special spot on the property, was the chosen place for the big moment. Covered with rose petals, it was where Rob asked Rebecca to be his wife.

Rob suggested they take their morning coffee down to the dock to enjoy the beautiful view. Leading her to the end of the dock, he dropped to one knee amidst the rose petals and popped the question. Rebecca’s shock and joy were obvious, her face lighting up with a range of emotions – from surprise to sheer happiness.

After I got some candid photos on the dock, the couple headed back to the house where their family was waiting to surprise Rebecca. The air was filled with laughter, hugs, and happy tears. Champagne was popped, and the celebration began. Rebecca’s sister had thoughtfully laid out several outfit options for her to change into for the portrait session, ensuring she felt beautiful and prepared.

With Rebecca in a lovely new outfit, we explored the property for a series of stunning portraits. Meanwhile, their moms decorated for lunch, creating a gorgeous table setup with blue and yellow accents. The day was filled with joy, love, and picturesque moments that reflected the couple’s happiness.
