We started their morning early—just after sunrise—when the West Village is still sleepy and golden, before the crowds and brunch lines arrive. The quiet charm of the neighborhood makes it one of my favorite places to photograph couples in NYC. West Village engagement photos always hit!

Jada and Taylor live near the Hudson River, just above the High Line, but they originally met back in Tennessee while in college. She’s a sweet southern belle with an eye for classic style, and he’s a quieter guy with a thoughtful presence. Together, they were effortlessly romantic and fun to photograph as we wandered through tree-lined streets, stopped at stoops with perfect light, and found an iconic ivy-covered building that felt like a little European secret tucked into Manhattan.

We wrapped the session with a quick walk to the High Line, where we got a few playful shots near the art installation Dinosaur. One of my favorite moments? A pretend proposal in front of the giant pigeon statue—because why not? It’s the kind of silly, joyful energy I love when couples bring to their session.
